Podlaskie Promotion Center is independent, non-government
organization established to grow competitiveness one of the most beautiful
regions in the European Union, which is Podlasie. This region is laid to the
east of Polish border, which is external border of the European Union as
well.
Podlasie is the region where influence of many countries and cultures was
seen from ages. Collision of multiple elements caused that in this region,
like in melting pot, many nationalities and religions were mixed with each
other. Today, besides Poles, we can find here Belarusian, Lithuanian,
Ukrainian, Tatars and Gypsies. Multiple religions are built by the
Catholics, Orthodox Church, Islam and Jewish believers. This denominational
mosaic is unique phenomenon on the European scale.
Podlasie is also very proud of the nature assets. From many years this
region called Green Lungs of Poland has offered fresh air, waters and
unpolluted forest complexes, such as Bialowieski Forest as well as many
National Parks protecting fauna and flora of water areas for example:
Biebrzanki, Wigierski or Narwianski National Parks.
Podlaskie voivodship also dispose great economical potential. Favourable
border position, near the capital city of Poland, highly qualified labour
force, low fixed costs and functioning two special economical zones create
positive image of the region friendly for domestic and international
investors.
We hope, that through promotion of the region and its citizens, we increase
chances of Podlasie for dynamic and balanced development. We also trust that
all actions taken by the Center will lead to cross Podlaskie voivodship off
the list of the worst developed regions in the European Union.
